There is a misunderstanding that needs to be cleared up on my being able to attend some Unit meetings. I was recently criticiized for not being able to attend a location involved 625 miles round trip and a motel room. I apologized to the party  that called me, although it did not involve the person I had spoken to, but another party who choose to represent the President of the unit. Also I was released from the hospital at the end of July as I had a stent installed account of a 80% blockage and was recovering from the procedure. I am still under treatment and awaiting shock treatment to my heart to get it back into rhythm. I my July column, I stated we have asked and they have accepted the responsibility of Assistant Directors of their state. Paul Meyer, Wisconsin, Lester Newton, Iowa and R.C. Smith of Illinois. An Assistant Director for Minnesota is forthcoming. All of these persons are long time members of NARVRE and well qualified and closer to your respective locations. I would love to accept any and all invitations but we also like to keep our expenses at a minimum. I hope all of you can appreciate our position. Thats it for now, sleep warm and stay safe. Roy Palmer
